Job summary

Veterans Engineering, a wholly owned subsidiary of Aretum, seeks a Biomedical Engineer/Clinical Engineer to manage complex medical devices and networked systems across the full lifecycle. You will plan, procure, implement, assess risk, and guide equipment replacement while ensuring regulatory compliance and patient safety.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, manage inventories and databases, and advise healthcare leadership on emerging technologies and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or CCE certification.
• 3+ years of hospital or healthcare experience maintaining medical equipment or managing a hospital medical equipment program.
• Experience in a medical center and Biomedical Engineering department.
• Knowledge of computer-based medical systems, networking, and information security in healthcare.
• Ability to develop a curriculum for continuing education in medical technology.
• Ability to manage recall and safety alert programs for medical devices.

Responsibilities

• Lead independent projects for complex biomedical equipment installations and testing.
• Coordinate with technical, clinical, and education staff for medical system deployments.
• Manage networked medical device installations and risk assessments.
• Assist with medical device inventory management and lifecycle analysis.
• Maintain the Networked Medical Device Database (NMDD) and related records.
• Prepare reports for the Chief of Biomedical Engineering and stakeholders.
