Job summary

GE HealthCare seeks an on-site Biomedical Technician with leadership responsibilities to coordinate service at Brooklyn and Manhattan accounts. You will direct assigned personnel, ensure contract obligations are met, and maintain strong customer relations.

The role requires working onsite, potential travel within the NY service area, and compliance with GE HealthCare standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor's in Electrical, Biomedical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with 4+ years of medical equipment service.
  • Or equivalent military education plus 4+ years in medical equipment service.
  • High School Diploma/GED with 6+ years of medical equipment service.

Responsibilities

  • As directed, use knowledge of customer contract to ensure obligations are met.
  • Prioritize service, assign personnel, and follow up on commitments.
  • Support BMET Leader and ASL with appraisals, status changes, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
  • Share on-call or service call escalation.
  • Act as Site Leader and manage customer relationships at assigned sites.

May perform some technical service work.This role requires the candidate to work onsite at our customer location. To provide onsite customer support, candidate needs to be willing to work throughout the Brooklyn and Manhattan, NY service area.
Responsibilities
Job Description
  • As directed, use knowledge of customer contract to ensure obligations are met.
  • Prioritize service, assign personnel, and follow up on commitments.
  • May assist BMET Leader and ASL with employee appraisals, status changes, promotions, disciplinary actions, and questions.
  • Share on-call or service call escalation.
  • Function as Site Leader and is responsible for customer relationship at assigned sites.
  • Ensure service quality via frequent customer contact and formal quality reviews.
  • Responsible for prompt and accurate filing of expense, time, and service reports.
  • May track and analyze financial performance with DOS or MCE.
  • May maintain approved parts inventory and manage vendor service delivery processes in compliance with GE policies.
  • Maintain technical knowledge of current standards for safe, effective use of medical equipment through instruction.
  • May provide instruction to hospital personnel on equipment operation, diagnostics, effective use, and repair.
  • Meet Health and Human Services, Environmental Health and Safety, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Effectively communicate and partner with teammates and colleagues.
Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of experience servicing medical equipment;
  • OR equivalent military education and 4+ years of experience servicing medical equipment;
  • OR High School Diploma/GED and 6+ years of experience servicing medical equipment
  • A minimum of four years' experience as a Biomedical Technician and one-year progressive team leadership experience effectively supervising and coaching technical personnel, as well as effectively resolving customer relations issues.
  • Qualified experience in a customer service environment with resulting knowledge of customer account coordination.
  • Experience managing financial and administrative requirements of the position.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to the customer in an easy to understand manner.
  • Ability to analyze metrics and reports (SEDs).
  • Proficiency in completing electronic documentation using technological tools (e.g., Ipad, Iphone) and familiar with technological programs (e.g., Microsoft Office).
  • Willing to travel outside of the assigned region.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $ 96,000.00 - $144,000.00. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long-term incentives (LTI). GE HealthCare offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, and tuition reimbursement.
