Job summary

Anne Arundel County Public Schools seeks a Science Teacher to provide instruction aligned with the school improvement plan and state standards. You will develop and present lessons, supervise students in multiple settings, and adapt materials to meet diverse student needs.

The role may require bilingual/biliterate skills, extensive collaboration with families, and occasional virtual instruction depending on assignment. In-person service across Maryland sites is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related field of education from a regionally accredited college or university.
• One year experience with virtual learning technology or remote instruction platforms if assigned to Virtual Academy.

Responsibilities

• Establishes clear goals and objectives related to the school improvement plan and plans lessons.
• Uses diverse instructional strategies including lectures, discussions, demonstrations, modeling and multimedia aids to present subject matter.
• Evaluates student progress and maintains records as required by law and policy.
• Confers with parents and students regarding progress and problems; arranges conferences as necessary.
• Plans and supervises instructional assistants, teacher assistants, and volunteers.
• Maintains classroom order and safety; monitors use of equipment and facilities.
• Incorporates technology into curriculum and supports virtual learning when needed.
• Attends staff meetings and contributes to instructional planning.
