Job summary

Baylor University’s Department of Biology in the College of Arts & Sciences seeks a non-tenure-track, full-time Lecturer to begin August 2027. The role emphasizes student-centered learning across lecture and lab courses, with opportunities in developing curricula and overseeing undergraduate laboratory experiences.

Ideal candidates will hold a Ph.D. or equivalent, have experience in laboratory teaching, and contribute to GTA/LA programs, mentoring undergraduates, and supervising teaching labs.

Qualifications

• Successful candidates will hold a Ph.D. or equivalent in a biologically related discipline.
• A track record of developing student-centered learning activities is expected.
• Previous teaching experience is preferred but not required.
• Successful candidates will be able to contribute to one or more of the following: course development, training, and oversight of Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTA), contributing to the department’s Learning Assistants (LA) program, mentoring undergraduate students, and supervising student teaching labs.
