Job summary

The Department of Integrative Biology at UC Berkeley invites applications for a pool of non-tenure track Lecturer positions to teach Integrative Biology and General Biology (BIO 1B) courses as need arises. Our department’s emphasis is on organismal biology.

We seek outstanding lecturers who can teach/co-teach small, medium, and large size lecture and/or laboratory courses in the broad subject areas listed below and are enrolled in Ph.D./M.D. programs or equivalent at the time of application.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to teach a range of biology courses including General Biology and integrative biology.
• Strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and student success.
• Experience using learning management systems to manage coursework and grading.

Responsibilities

• Teach/co-teach General Biology (BIO 1B) and related courses across lecture and lab sections.
• Hold office hours and assess student work using LMS.
• Prepare syllabi, quizzes/exams, and grade submissions; coordinate with GSIs when applicable.
• Attend instructional meetings and proctor exams as required.
