Job summary

Element Staffing is recruiting biology lab technicians for a world-renowned medical testing and research organization in Houston, TX. The role involves performing high-complexity molecular tests to aid in diagnosis and treatment of viral and genetic diseases. MB (ASCP) or MT (ASCP) certifications are highly desired for experienced positions.

Shifts available: 1st, 2nd and 3rd. 2-5+ years experience preferred with a BS/MS in Medical Technology, Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or related field.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Medical Technology, Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or similar (required or strongly preferred).
• 2-5+ years of biological lab experience.
• MB (ASCP) or MT (ASCP) certifications are highly desired for experienced positions.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and troubleshoot assay performance using DNA extraction and real-time PCR.
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment.
• Perform Quality Control checks and take actions if testing or processes deviate from specs.
• Accurately record all sample and results data and input into the laboratory database.
• Demonstrate knowledge of laboratory QA, safety and compliance programs.

Element Staffing is recruiting for multiple biology lab technicians to work for a world-renowned medical testing and research organization in Houston, TX. The technicians will conduct high complexity molecular tests in the treatment and diagnosis of viral and genetic diseases. MB (ASCP) or MT (ASCP) certifications are highly desired for experienced positions.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Perform testing and troubleshoot assay performance by use of DNA extraction and real-time PCR.
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment.
• Perform Quality Control checks and take appropriate actions if testing, processes, or systems deviate from desired specifications.
• Accurately record all sample and results data and input into laboratory database.
• Demonstrate knowledge of laboratory quality assurance, safety and compliance programs and perform tasks within those guidelines.
• Performs clinical testing in compliance with CAP, NY, CLIA regulations.
• Other duties as assigned by lab manager.
