Job summary

Lone Star College-Montgomery is seeking a Part Time Assistant II, Biology Lab (Teaching Assistant) to support faculty in the Biology Department for Majors and Non-Majors Biology courses. You will assist during labs, help students, and maintain a safe, organized lab environment.

Responsibilities include setting up labs, assisting with lab activities, and ensuring proper disposal of biohazard materials while collaborating with faculty to stay prepared for labs. Must reside in Texas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Biology 2401 is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to faculty with the delivery of labs (helping students use lab equipment, clarifying procedures, setting up labs).
• Assists students with basic questions, not instructing or grading.
• Consults with faculty to stay up-to-date with class information and needs.
• Maintains clean laboratories and equipment.
• Ensures proper disposal of biohazard materials.
• Checks email and consults with supervisor regularly.
• Assists faculty with lab practical exams and activities.
• Other reasonable duties as assigned.
