South Texas College seeks a Biology faculty member to teach microbiology, anatomy and physiology, and other biology courses. You will connect subject matter to related fields, develop syllabi, and ensure student learning outcomes are met through active assessment.
The role requires a Ph.D. or Master’s in Biology with relevant coursework and prior college teaching experience; familiarity with Blackboard is preferred. This on-site faculty position emphasizes community college teaching philosophy.

Applicant should have a minimum of two years recent teaching experience at college/university level
Two or more years of recent prior Microbiology and/or Anatomy and Physiology teaching experience
Coursework and/or teaching experience sufficient to teach Microbiology and/or Human Anatomy and Physiology
Coursework and/or teaching experience sufficient to also teach other Biology courses in our curriculum
Experience using a variety of teaching technologies and methodologies
Demonstrated current and ongoing professional growth
Experience teaching diverse student population
Experience using Learning Management System (Blackboard)
Online Teaching experiences
Experience with teaching courses for dual enrollment initiatives
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, class assignments and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to students and respond to questions from individuals as well as groups of students and chairs/directors.
