Technician IV, Manufacturing – Cell Culture

Pay Rate: $31–$33/hour

Shift: Sunday–Thursday, First Shift
Job Description
The Technician IV will support cell culture process development and laboratory operations within a biologics development environment. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining bench-scale bioreactor systems, preparing cell culture media, performing routine culture sampling, and supporting laboratory equipment maintenance and data documentation.
- Set up, calibrate, troubleshoot, decontaminate, and dismantle 3 L bioreactor systems supporting a 100+ system laboratory.
- Perform routine sampling and support feeding of ongoing cell cultures.
- Prepare cell culture media, stock solutions, and other laboratory reagents; perform aseptic filtration and aliquoting.
- Conduct routine calibration and verification of pH meters, cell counters, and biochemical analyzers.
- Maintain laboratory inventory, consumables, equipment, and glassware.
- Record experimental data in paper-based and electronic systems.
- Independently perform scheduled weekend sampling and culture-feeding activities and address routine process issues.
Education
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Biology, Engineering, or a related field.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an industrial laboratory environment.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment setup, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures, sample handling, and data documentation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on cell culture experience, preferably in biologics process development.
- Familiarity with bench-scale bioreactor systems and cell culture process support.
- Experience preparing cell culture media and stock solutions using aseptic techniques.
- Experience with pH meters, cell counters, and biochemical analyzers.
