Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. in Rahway, NJ, seeks a scientist/engineer for the Bioprocess Drug Substance Commercialization group to advance late-stage process development, technology transfer, and in-line support of biologics.

Responsibilities include leading hands-on downstream processing experiments, collaborating with manufacturing teams, and authoring technical docs for PPQ and licensure. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology or comparable discipline.
• 2+ years of experience with downstream processing of mAb products or similar in lab/manufacturing.
• Mechanistic understanding of downstream processing separation sciences.
• Ability to execute experiments independently meeting quality and timeline.

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on experiments in biologics downstream processing, including lab-scale characterization and pilot-scale development.
• Collaborate with commercial manufacturing teams to support start-up and on-the-floor in-line activities.
• Author and/or review technical documents to support PPQ and licensure.
