US National Park Service seeks qualified candidates for fisheries biology related duties across multiple GS levels. Opportunities emphasize field or laboratory work, data collection and analysis, and collaboration with park biological programs.
Applicants should review specialized experience and education requirements and ensure transcripts are provided. Positions emphasize flexibility in hours and potential for temporary, 1039-hour service year assignments.
Open to the first 250 applicants or until 10/26/2026 whichever comes first. All applications submitted by 11:59 (EST) on the closing day will receive consideration.
These positions are temporary and may not exceed 1039 hours (six months) in a service year. They may be terminated sooner or extended depending on management needs.
Selectees may be moved between duty stations within park boundaries. Positions/grades may not be filled at every duty station.
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-10/26/2026-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement.
To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. Failure to adequately provide information needed to determine number of hours worked in each position may result in that time not being credited when evaluating qualifying experience. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected.
