Job summary

Vanderbilt University Medical Center's OCRS - Biological Safety team seeks a qualified specialist to assist with implementing and evaluating chemical, biological, radiological, general and hospital safety programs. You will provide technical and administrative consultation and participate in inspections and reporting.

The role emphasizes developing SOPs, delivering training, and applying safety knowledge across multiple areas.

Qualifications

• Regulatory compliance experience and ability to interpret rules.
• Develop SOPs, training materials, and department guides.
• 2+ years of related safety program experience.

Responsibilities

• Understand applicable external regulations and internal policies; assist with inspections and report results.
• Draft department documents including SOPs and guides.
• Deliver training to specified audiences and contribute to training materials.
• Develop and implement safety program skills across radiation, chemical, and biological safety areas.
• Assist with data entry and general tasks for large-scale safety events when needed.
• Communicate with customers and external agencies; draft written communications.
• Contribute to departmental reports and participate in committees as needed.
