Job summary

Werfen seeks a Biological Quality Assurance (BQA) Technician to join the QA team. The role focuses on microbiological and environmental sampling to confirm product quality for healthcare diagnostics.

The candidate will adhere to SOPs, OSHA and cGMP regulations and support quality operations under supervision. Qualifications include a BS/BA in microbiology or biology, laboratory experience, and ability to handle cultures with aseptic technique.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) from four-year college or university.
• Microbiology or related science degree preferred.
• 1–2 years’ experience in a microbiological laboratory setting preferred but not required.
• Microbiological or environmental sampling experience desired.
• Must be able to visualize bacterial culture media to inoculate testing media.

Responsibilities

• Performs cultures of environmental samples.
• Conducts environmental sampling of air, water, surfaces and personnel.
• Incubates, reads and records culture results.
• Performs and reports gram stain results.
• Follows aseptic technique in controlled areas.
• Performs data entry and filing of department paperwork.
• Supports execution of Facility Qualifications and Raw Material/Process Validations.
