Work Location: Swiftwater, PA
Assignment Duration: 7 Months

The process starts with a delivery of eggs containing embryos to the egg dock. The carts of eggs are unloaded from the hatchery truck and placed into a warm room for holding. One cart per truck is candled (minimum), a sample of eggs from each truck are inspected for quality. Once the quality check is done, the carts are moved from the warm room into the Inoculation Load room. Trays of eggs are removed from the carts and placed onto a conveyer. The trays of eggs will pass through an inoculation machine where the eggs are inoculated (B59) or carts are put into the unloader for unloading (B79)(as long as machinery is functioning correctly, may need to hand unload egg trays if machinery is being worked on). Trays of inoculated eggs are then hand loaded onto incubation carts (B59), 136 trays per cart. (B79 automatic loaders will load the incubation carts unless the machinery is down, hand loading will be required) The carts are then moved, two people per cart, and placed into incubators. Throughout the process four to five trucks will deliver approximately 650,000/750,000 (B59/B79) eggs per day to the egg dock.
