Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in the United States is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to report to the Plasma Center Manager and support plasma center operations.

You will determine donor eligibility, manage adverse events, review lab results, and refer issues to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs while supporting vaccination programs and EHS duties. This is a full-time, on-site role in Del City, OK.

Qualifications

  • Licensed or certified EMT-Paramedic in the responsible state.
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

  • Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing SPE.
  • Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results, notifying donors of unsuitable test results.
  • Evaluate donor reactions, following SOPs for medical emergencies and the Center Physician's standing orders.
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
  • Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
  • Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER.
  • Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.
  • Provide center-level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS). Assist in providing guidance for medical issues under the management of the Center Physician.

  • Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results, notifying donors of unsuitable test results.
  • Evaluate donor reactions, following SOPs for medical emergencies and the development of Center Physician's standing orders.
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
  • Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Complete FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
  • Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation

U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $21.60 - $29.70.

The estimated hourly wage range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered may depend on qualifications, years of experience, unique skills, level of education, certifications, location, and applicable minimum wage requirements.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives. They may participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well‑being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees may also receive up to 80 hours of sick time per year, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
