Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking a Research Informatics Specialist to build pipelines for analysis of single-cell RNA-seq and spatial transcriptomics data. You will collaborate with PhD researchers and clinicians to investigate mouse and human diseases, applying bioinformatics tools in an HPC environment.
The role involves training staff, presenting results, and contributing to publications within a pediatric research setting. Strong teamwork and communication are essential.
Research Informatics supports basic, translational, and clinical research by providing researchers with access to digital tools and technologies. Our computing environment consists of high-performance computing clusters, virtual machines, PetaByte-scale high-performance storage and cloud platforms. We work with scientists to develop solutions in support of cutting-edge research ranging from lattice light-sheet microscopy to CryoEM, genomics, and informatics.
You will work with PhD-level bioinformatics scientists and researchers who have single-cell RNA-seq and spatial transcriptomics data to investigate mouse and human diseases as well as with other pediatric scientists at BCH. The primary responsibilities will be building pipelines for the analysis, integration and sharing of these data. The ideal candidate should have enthusiasm for developing collaborative relationships and a desire to foster the use of bioinformatics data in research studies.
