Job summary

Seaboard Foods is seeking a Biogas Technician to join our RNG team, operating and maintaining RNG facilities in collaboration with a safety-conscious crew.

You will monitor field and control room operations, perform routine maintenance, and diagnose electrical/control system issues, while adhering to regulatory and safety standards. A valid driver’s license is required to operate company vehicles and equipment.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write, analyze and interpret technical and regulatory information.
  • Ability to present information clearly to customers and coworkers.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable MVR.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and operate RNG facilities from field and control room locations.
  • Perform maintenance work in accordance with safety rules and record daily reports.
  • Diagnose and communicate issues for repair of electrical power and control systems.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance on water, air systems, pumps and related equipment.
  • Respond to callouts and work rotating on-call shifts.

We have an exciting Biogas Technician opportunity. The Biogas Technician will be required to work in a team environment to accomplish the operations and maintenance objectives identified by Seaboard Foods RNG Management. Focus on basic knowledge and awareness of safety protocols, regulatory standards, and fundamental system operations. Operators at this level are expected to understand the core components and safety regulations of RNG. They are responsible for the safe and proper operation, maintenance, and repairs of the Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) facilities mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor/Operate the RNG facilities from field locations including a control room, identify issues, and make necessary changes to ensure steady operations of the facilities
  • Understand and support QSH&E goals and objectives, and on-going improvement plans and activities.
  • Perform work orders and ensure all maintenance work is done in accordance with established safety rules.
  • Ensure proper record keeping of daily reports.
  • Perform minor preventive maintenance on fresh water and effluent systems, air systems, heat exchangers, and pumps
  • Maintain compressors, motors, pumps, and valves associated with operations.
  • Must be able to diagnose and communicate issues for repair electrical power and control systems.
  • Use tools ranging from common hand tools and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electronic testing devices
  • Must be willing to work a rotating on call schedule
  • Must respond to callouts as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned at management’s discretion.

Required
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret in the English language correspondence, general business reports, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, or reports.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of customers and visitors.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable MVR.
Preferred
  • Associate's degree or Technical school diploma or related degree program/field preferred. Biology and/or Chemistry experience preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in a chemical or petrochemical environment preferred.
  • Previous experience in the gas compression field and/or processing plant environment preferred.
