Job summary

Vanguard Renewables in Weston, MA, is seeking a Biogas Technician to operate and maintain anaerobic digestion equipment and gas processing systems. You will perform routine maintenance, monitor gas production, coordinate with contractors, and ensure a safe, compliant plant operation.

Ideal candidates have industrial maintenance experience, knowledge of safety procedures, and the ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings.

Qualifications

• Valid driver license and ability to operate a vehicle.
• Must be able to read, write and understand English.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Experience in industrial or gas processing environment encouraged.
• Willing to work on-call hours.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings.
• Proficient with multimeters and data interpretation.
• Basic proficiency with Windows-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety program and coordinates with contractors to maintain safe work practices.
• Supports plant safety, health, and environmental programs.
• Performs mechanical tasks such as valve replacement and motor work on digesters.
• Schedules and oversees third-party contractor services.
• Monitors gas production and gas concentrations (O2, H2S).
• Records operational parameters and responds to trends and issues.
• Operates pumps, blowers, and related equipment per policy.
• Assists in preventative maintenance and SOP documentation.
