Job summary

Precise Systems is seeking a Purification Process Engineer to lead Biochemical DSP projects, translating bench methods to pilot-scale operations and mentoring staff. The role emphasizes kilogram-scale prototyping through fermentation and downstream processing in hazardous environments, with a strong focus on process development and collaboration across teams.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of leadership in pilot- or large-scale manufacturing, experience with distillation, liquid-liquid

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years leading pilot- or large-scale manufacturing processes.
• Experience with hazardous location operations and regulatory awareness.
• Hands-on chemical processing techniques (distillation, liquid-liquid extraction, etc.).
• Familiarity with industry safety standards and biomanufacturing scale-up.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of project-specific process improvements in Biochemical DSP.
• Mentor engineers and operators on large-scale processes and equipment.
• Balance timelines, budgets, and resources while maintaining safety and quality.
• Train staff and ensure hands-on adjustments when needed.
• Create P&IDs and specify equipment requirements.
• Coordinate commissioning and site acceptance tests for new equipment.
• Translate bench-scale downstream processes to pilot-scale operations.
• Record data, generate technical reports, and maintain SOPs.
