Job summary

The Scripps Research Institute in San Diego seeks a Research Assistant II to support pharmacology in drug discovery. You will develop LC‑MS assays for NMEs and assist in ADME assays across modalities including small molecules, peptides, proteins and antibodies.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in chemistry/biochemistry and 3–5 years of relevant experience, with hands-on LC‑MS, SPE/LLE sample prep, data analysis, and strong documentation in a fast-paced research environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry or a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience.
• Requires 3-5 years' experience; master's degree with 2+ years acceptable.
• Experience in biochemistry, pharmacology; 1-3 years in a bioanalytical lab.
• Strong LC/MS expertise, familiarity with SCIEX instrumentation preferred.
• Hands-on LC-MS/MS assays for quantitation of NMEs in biological matrices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare biological samples from various matrices and support bioanalytical method development.
• Develop and optimize LC‑MS methods for quantitative analysis of NMEs.
• Maintain LC‑MS instrumentation and analytical methods; troubleshoot as needed.
• Analyze experimental data and maintain laboratory notebooks accurately.
• Manage laboratory databases and perform routine lab maintenance.
• Prepare bioanalytical reports and present results to cross-functional teams.
• QC reviews of PK/ADME reports generated by CROs.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and quick problem-solving in a fast-paced setting.
