Job summary

Performance Contracting Group is seeking an experienced Design Engineer for its Dallas-based Midlothian, TX operations. The role focuses on BIM/VDC modeling, design coordination, and producing detailed Revit models for complex projects.

The ideal candidate has a strong portfolio showing Revit work, proficiency in AutoCAD/Navisworks, and familiarity with BIM 360. You will collaborate with design and operations teams to improve processes and deliver high-quality documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related discipline preferred or 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• 4+ years of BIM (Revit)/VDC modeling and coordination experience.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage, and BIM 360 Design/Glue.
• Portfolio demonstrating work in Revit and Revit Family Editor.
• Experience with Bluebeam PDF Software.
• Strong ability to understand design and document coordination.
• Innovative, proactive, and able to improve processes and construction techniques.
• Willingness to visit project sites and travel as needed.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; proficient in Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Attend kickoff meetings to define LOI, scope, and contract requirements before modeling.
• Create 3D models utilizing Revit and coordinate with design/ops teams.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings and resolve clashes.
• Develop scopes including walls, ceilings, panels, raised floors, and clean rooms in Revit.
• Coordinate with point cloud files and ensure spatially accurate models.
• Escalate issues to BIM Coordinator and teams; coordinate resolutions.
• Perform BIM compliance checks and QC models against documents.
• Use Navisworks to run clash detection and resolve PCI clashes.
• Maintain project-specific BIM content and support design/ops teams.
• Prepare CAD/Navisworks files for field use; support special projects.

Design Engineer

PCI is seeking an experienced Design Engineer for its PCI Dallas 114 operations based in Midlothian, TX.

This individual will be responsible for the following duties:

• Attend kick off meeting with design and or operations staff at beginning of project to ensure Level of Development, scope, project details and contract requirements are understood before modeling begins.


• Create 3D models utilizing Revit.


• Actively participate in BIM coordination and design meetings.


• Develop and model scopes as requested, including, but not limited to, Interior and Exterior Walls, including framing, Ceiling and Soffit Framing, Acoustical Ceilings, Specialty Panels, Raised Access Floor, Clean Room Walls, Clean Room Ceilings, Unistrut, No Fly Zones and other specialty scopes to required Level of Development using Revit, and other Revit add-on programs.


• Coordinate with point cloud files.


• Ensure models produced are spatially coordinated.


• Escalate any issues to the BIM Coordinator and Design or Operations Team.


• Elevate model and document inconsistencies to the attention of the BIM Coordinator and Design/Operations Team to determine what action is to be taken.


• Ensure all elements of the model are fully coordinated within PCI's scope.


• Perform BIM compliance checks of deliverables.


• QC model against project documents for discrepancies.


• Utilize Navisworks Manage to run clash detection and identify potential issues.


• Use Navisworks to resolve PCI clashes.


• Attend staff training to enhance staff members' knowledge and expertise of the standardized software used.


• Create and maintain project-specific content to ensure they are consistently aligned with instructions, guidelines, in-house standards, and the project's BIM standards.


• Actively engage with Design and Operations Team to implement best BIM/VDC practices.


• Coordinate with BIM/VDC service providers and clients.


• Provide & design support tasks including but not limited to: processing install drawings, incorporating comments, Producing details and layout files.


• Clean, prepare, and organize CAD/Navisworks files for field use.


• Special projects as assigned.

Salary Range: $72,400-$97,000 annual salary plus non-guaranteed annualized bonus program

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in related discipline (Construction Management, Construction Science, Architecture, Engineering Fields, etc.) preferred.


• 2-year technical degree or 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.


• 4+ years of BIM (Revit)/VDC modeling and coordination experience.


• Must possess proficiency with software platforms including Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage, and BIM 360 Design/Glue.


• Must be able to present a portfolio demonstrating work in Revit and Revit Family Editor.


• Experience with Bluebeam PDF Software.


• Ability to understand design and document coordination.
