Job summary

Whiting-Turner Contracting Company in Seattle seeks an Assistant VDC Manager to lead BIM coordination across multi‑discipline teams on federal projects, applying emerging technologies to promote VDC adoption. The role requires reading drawings, coordinating MEP and fire protection, managing clash resolution, and developing BIM execution plans.

You will work from our headquarters with potential relocation to the Pacific Northwest.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an AEC field or BIM concentration.
• Minimum 2 years leading BIM coordination on Federal projects preferred.
• Proficient reading of construction drawings and schedules.
• Strong communication and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Experience with VDC programs and BIM technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams executing a Virtual Building program.
• Develop BIM Execution Plans.
• Evaluate Design Intent models for constructability.
• Create virtual simulations to improve site logistics and safety.
• Lead collaborative meetings with trade partners and designers.
• Produce clash reports and action items for BIM stakeholders.
• Generate RFIs from the Virtual Build process.
• Test new software and advise on project-specific use.
