Job summary

Ames Construction seeks a skilled BIM/VDC modeling specialist to join our heavy civil team in West Virginia and beyond. You will develop and maintain 3D models from design drawings and survey data, and coordinate across structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines on challenging infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities include clash detection, quantity takeoffs, and supporting cost estimating, with a focus on accuracy and timely deliverables. Travel to sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of BIM/VDC modeling, civil engineering, or construction technology experience.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, or equivalent BIM software.
• Experience with machine control/GPS grading systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 3D building/civil information models from design drawings and survey data.
• Perform clash detection and coordinate model conflicts across disciplines.
• Support quantity takeoffs and cost estimating using model data.
• Maintain model version control and ensure alignment with design revisions.
• Produce coordination drawings, sections, and visualizations to support field execution.
• Assist as-built model development and project closeout documentation.
