Job summary

Digital Building Components (DBC), part of the DPR Family of Companies, is seeking an experienced BIM Modeler to develop metal stud framing 3D models, shop drawings, and spool sheets using REVIT, MWF, and Navisworks. Collaboration with internal and external teams is essential.

Responsibilities include model management, clash detection, quality control, and training others on DBC tools. A background in exterior framing and BIM/VDC is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in BIM/VDC (2yrs min) or lead role in commercial framing/drywall with strong computer proficiency (3yrs).
• Reading and interpreting architectural/structural plans.
• Understanding of exterior by-pass framing (metal or wood) is essential.

Responsibilities

• Project coordination to facilitate digital framing/build process with project teams.
• Model management to develop 3D models, shop drawings, spool sheets, and material reports.
• Run clash detection and resolve conflicts between Components interacting with DBC panels.
• Quality control to ensure models meet standards and project specs.
• Provide training and support on DBC processes/tools to internal/external teams.

Job Description

Digital Building Components (DBC), part of the DPR Family of Companies, is seeking an experienced BIM Modeler who will be responsible for developing metal stud (CFS) framing detailed 3D models, framing shop drawings, and spool sheets using REVIT, MWF, and Navisworks. Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following:

Duties And Responsibilities

• Project coordination - facilitate the digital framing/build process, coordinate with internal/external project teams, and ensure accuracy.
• Model management - develop and manage 3D models, produce shop drawings, spool sheets, material reports, schedules, and roll former CNC files.
• Clash detection and resolution - identify, coordinate, and resolve conflicts/clashes for components/scopes interacting with DBC panels.
• Quality control - ensure DBC models meet quality standards, construction documents, and project specifications.
• Training and support - provide training and support to internal/external team members for DBC processes/tools.

Required Skills And Abilities

• Understanding of exterior by-pass framing (in metal or wood).
• General understanding of basic building systems
• CFS framing and/or EIFS/rainscreen finishes experience is a plus.
• Architectural and structural engineering plans reading and interpretation.
• Understanding of electrical, plumbing and mechanical is a plus.
• Understanding of curtain wall, storefront, window, and door shops is a plus.
• Good interpersonal skills and strong willingness to work in a collaborative environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with Revit, MWF, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Box, ACC, Monday.com, and/or Smartsheet is a plus.

Education And Experience

• Experience in BIM/VDC (2yrs min) or experience in commercial framing and drywall as a lead with strong computer proficiency (3yrs min).
• High School diploma or general equivalency diploma and/or 3+ years of related experience.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Production facility walks to review the fabrication of panels.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
