Job summary

Archer Mechanical, Inc. in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a dedicated full-time BIM Modeler to join our team.

You will translate engineering notes and mechanical specs into high-precision, LOD 400 BIM models that move from screen to shop floor, supporting fabrication and installation. Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of Revit or CAD experience for mechanical plumbing and HVAC, with strong knowledge of MEP systems, BIM coordination, and proficiency in Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Create installable, detailed mechanical piping and plumbing drawings based on specifications and engineering notes
• Prepare and modify contract plan drawings and shop drawings for contractor approval and fabrication
• Perform quality control checks on drawings
• Utilize Revit to layout drawings, diagrams, schedules and schematics; use Trimble for point creation and field installation
• Organize and maintain digital files and project documentation
• Use Revit, Bluebeam, and Navisworks for BIM coordination and shop drawings; continue developing skills

Archer Mechanical specializes in sustainable mechanical and plumbing systems, providing a design-build, design-assist, new construction, additions, remodels, retrofits, service and preventative maintenance.

The organization has been established since 1987 and has continued to grow rapidly over the past 38 years. Archer Mechanical produces a higher-value product cost-effectively and efficiently using progressive construction planning technologies, advanced construction materials, and manufacturing methods, reducing safety risks, schedule durations, and congestion on the job site while enhancing the construction results.

We are looking for an individual with 2-4 years of experience working with Revit or CAD models in relations to Mechanical Plumbing and HVAC.

At Archer Mechanical, we don’t just “model” – we build. We are looking for a BIM Modeler who understands that a great model is the foundation of a successful build. You will be a core member of our BIM Department, translating engineering notes and mechanical specifications into high-precision, LOD 400 models that transition seamlessly from your screen to our fabrication shop.

This is a full-time, in person role at our Salt Lake City headquarters. If you are not in the SLC area, this role would require you to relocate to Utah.

Once you have established tenure and performance benchmarks, we offer potential for a hybrid schedule.

This position is expected to report in person full time at our location in Salt Lake City. There is potential for a hybrid schedule once tenure and performance benchmarks have been established.

• Be self-motivated and take ownership of assigned tasks.
• Create installable, detailed mechanical piping and plumbing drawings based on mechanical specifications, engineering notes, and verbal direction from team leads.
• Prepare and modify contract plan drawings, sketches, and verbal descriptions to create shop drawings for contractor approval and fabrication/construction use.
• Perform quality control checks on drawings.
• Utilize Revit to layout detailed drawings, diagrams sketch's, schedules and schematics. As well as utilizing points for our Trimble robotic station for point creation and field installation.
• Organize and maintain digital files and project documentation.
• Utilize Revit, Bleabeam, and Navisworks for BIM coordination and shop drawings. As well as continue developing skills in Revit, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Communicate professionally with owners, contractors and internal teams.

Critical Qualifications:

• Minimum 2-5 years experience working with Revit or CAD models in relation to mechanical plumbing and HVAC.
• Intimate knowledge of Mechanical & Plumbing systems - And the ability to visualize piping and plumbing systems in 3D.
• Fluent with Revit & Navisworks for BIM Coordination and shop drawings.
• Strong skills with Bluebeam.
• Ability to understand construction plans, specifications and documentations including plans, & submittals.
• Positive, team oriented communication skills.
• Detail oriented and adaptable.
• VDC knowledge.

Preferential Qualifications:

• Fabrication shop or field installation experience with mechanical plumbing.
• Familiarity with LOD Requirements and modeling for constructability.
