Job summary

ABLe Communications, Inc. is seeking a BIM Modeler to create and maintain data-rich BIMs for low voltage systems on new construction and renovations. You will model cabling, trays, pathways, and telecom room layouts while collaborating with BIM Coordinators and Project Managers.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, learn quickly, and deliver accurate models to support coordination and field installation. On-site work with occasional site visits is expected as projects advance.

Qualifications

  • 0–3 years of experience using Autodesk Revit in construction, drafting, architecture, engineering, or BIM.
  • Proficient in Autodesk Revit.
  • Basic understanding of Navisworks.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and understand design intent.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn low voltage construction methods and BIM coordination processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to visit active construction sites when required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models using Autodesk Revit.
  • Model low voltage systems including structured cabling, cable tray, conduit pathways, telecommunications rooms, and device layouts.
  • Update BIM models based on design revisions, RFIs, and field markups.
  • Assist BIM Coordinators with clash detection and coordination efforts using Navisworks.
  • Produce construction documents including floor plans, details, schedules, and sheet layouts.
  • Follow project BIM Execution Plans (BEP), company standards, and established workflows.
  • Maintain model accuracy, organization, and data integrity throughout all project phases.
  • Coordinate with BIM Coordinators and project teams to ensure models meet project requirements.
  • Assist with model reviews and quality control before project submissions.
  • Participate in occasional field visits to verify installations and improve constructability.
  • Continue developing BIM skills, company standards, and industry best practices.

Position SummaryAs a BIM Modeler, you will support the Low Voltage Construction team by creating and maintaining accurate, data-rich Building Information Models (BIM) for new construction and renovation projects.
