Job summary

Valor Contracting in the Upper Midwest is seeking a BIM Engineer for our Saint Louis Park, MN or West Fargo, ND offices. The role leads Building Information Models (BIM) and VDC initiatives across commercial construction projects, driving coordination, clash detection, visualization, and digital delivery.

You will partner with project managers, design teams, and subcontractors to leverage technology, maintain BIM standards, and train teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field.
3+ years of BIM, VDC, design coordination, or construction technology experience.
Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud.
Experience coordinating commercial construction projects using model-based workflows.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and manage BIM models throughout design and construction.
Coordinate architectural, structural, civil, and MEP systems to resolve design conflicts.
Create construction phasing plans, logistics simulations, and site utilization models.
Utilize reality capture technologies to validate conditions and monitor progress.
Support preconstruction through model-based estimating and quantity takeoffs.
Produce visualizations and model-based deliverables for teams and clients.
Collaborate with project teams to leverage BIM data for planning and execution.
Establish BIM execution plans, workflows, and quality control processes.
Provide training and technical support on BIM platforms and VDC practices.
Evaluate new technologies and propose process improvements for project delivery.
