Rapid Response Monitoring is seeking a billing support specialist to join our billing team in Syracuse, NY. This role focuses on accurate billing, customer account maintenance, and collaboration with AR supervisors. You’ll handle invoicing, payments, discrepancies, and customer inquiries with a customer-first approach.

The ideal candidate has accounting basics, data-entry experience, and strong software adaptability to support efficient operations. On-site hours apply.

Job Summary

This is the accounting position you have been searching for Rapid Response Monitoring is looking for an individual to join our billing team As a billing support specialist you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate billing processes and maintaining customer accounts This position requires a blend of technical skills customer service expertise and attention to detail If you enjoy problem solving and working with customers to resolve issues this role will be a great fit for you

Salary Range

2300 to 3000 per hour based on experience

Hours

Monday Friday 800am 500pm

Responsibilities

• Proactively contact delinquent accounts in accordance with established collection procedures; help prevent defaults by offering options such as automatic payments or scheduled payment plansRecommend appropriate payment plan solutions to the Accounts Receivable Supervisory team for review and approvalFoster strong client relationships to promote timely payments by building rapport and understanding customer payment behaviorsRecord and apply incoming payments to corresponding customer accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies or billing issuesPerform billing and invoicing tasks as assigned including cancellations and credits and monthly late statementsAssist with audits as directed by the Accounts Receivable Supervisory teamSet up new customer accounts promptly and accurately; maintain the billing database by updating customer information services and ratesGenerate and distribute accurate invoices statements credits and late charges including itemized details via electronic data interchange when applicableDocument billing changes related to new or existing service offerings and communicate updates to team members and supervisorsRespond to customer billing inquiries via phone or email maintaining a high level of customer service through consistent professional communication and elevate complex issues to the Accounts Receivable Supervisory team when necessaryAssist in developing and implementing new billing proceduresInvestigate and resolve billing discrepancies and promptly report findings to the Accounts Receivable Supervisory teamAble to contribute to the overall success of the company by performing all assigned duties in a professional timely and accurate mannerProvide general administrative support to the department

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications Associates degree in business or related fieldProven experience as a data entry clerkProven ability to adapt to new software and changing office environmentSolid understanding of basic accounting principles fair credit practices and collection regulationsSuccessfully clear drug screen and background check to meet industry and security licensing requirements

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors DegreeAbility to effectively communicate verbally and in writingExperience with customer service and have ability to negotiateStrong organizational skills with the aptitude to pay attention to detailProficiency of the Microsoft Office suite Word Excel PowerPoint
