Job summary

Mohave Mental Health Clinic is seeking an entry level Billing Clerk to post manual and electronic remittances from health plans and resolve denials for payment. The role supports the Billing Supervisors and assists the Billing Specialists. You will work under pressure to meet deadlines and provide excellent service to internal and external customers.

On-site position requiring basic computer skills and accuracy in posting, with opportunities to learn and grow within the billing department.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year medical billing experience.
• Current fingerprint card or ability to obtain one clear of restrictions upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Post health plans remittances received through mail or electronic means.
• Work all denials for resubmission and payment.
• Generate superbills for vendor transportation vouchers for billing purposes.
• Assist the Billing Specialists II and III as requested.
• Provide customer service to internal and external customers and stakeholders.
• Participate in the Performance Improvement Processes in the Clinic.
• Meet multiple deadlines under pressure.
• Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.

Lines Of Authority:

This position is supervised by theBilling Supervisor. Unless specificallydesignated, this position does not supervise any other personnel.

Position Summary

This is an entry level position in the billingdepartment. The person is responsible forposting all manual and electronic remittances from health plans and resolvedenials for payment.

Principal Duties/Responsibilities

• Post all health plans remittances received throughmail or electronic means through the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• Work all denials for resubmission and payment.
• Generates superbills for vendor transportationvouchers for billing purposes
• Assist the Billing Specialists II and III asrequested.
• Provides customer service to internal and externalcustomers and stakeholders.
• Participates in the Performance ImprovementProcesses in the Clinic.
• The employee must work well under pressure meetingmultiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines.
• The employee shall, at all times, demonstratecooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.

PRIMARYCONTACTS:

• Direct contact with clinical personnel and workgroups.
• Daily contact with supervisor.

POSITIONREQUISITES:

Qualificationsand Experience

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Word processing and spread sheet experience.
