MKC is seeking a detail-oriented bookkeeper to manage grain and feed transactions across multiple locations, monitor inventory, and produce reports. Responsibilities

  • Perform bookkeeping functions for grain transactions at all locations assigned, including input of grain tickets, reconciliation of grain accounts, transfers, contracts, and settlement paperwork.
  • Run the scale, probe grain trucks, test the grain, and input necessary information into Point of Scale.
  • Input feed and counter sales transactions into the Point of Sale system, invoice customers, and check credit balances monthly.
  • Perform Ag-trax accounting for assigned locations including invoicing work orders for custom applications and POS invoicing for fertilizers.
  • Provide pricing for agronomy applications to callers.
  • Enter invoices, produce billings, set up new accounts, and maintain accounts for agronomy transactions.
  • Monitor inventory of fertilizer, chemicals, and store items; order inventory and fuel; maintain monthly fuel reconciliation.
  • Produce daily and month end reports and balance deposits and cash boxes daily.
  • Greet walk-in customers and answer calls in a professional manner; resolve problems with manager support.
  • Attend training sessions and complete special projects as directed by management.

Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible the bookkeeping of grain and feed transactions for multiple locations along with monitoring inventory and producing reports. This activity will include: inputting grain tickets for incoming grain and for outgoing grain, grain transfers, grain contracts, and settlement checks. This position will have working knowledge of both the point of scale and the point of sale systems. Invoicing of point of sales transactions, balancing cash drawers daily, and balancing daily deposits will also be required of this position. This person will frequently be the first contact for customers calling in to the office or walking into the office. They are expected to wait on customers at the front counter and answer the phone, along with any of their responsibilities, in a professional manner that will optimize the cooperative’s market share and savings, improve the cooperative’s efficiency, help achieve the cooperative’s mission and goals, and provide outstanding customer service. This employee will maintain a positive attitude that promotes team work within the entire cooperative and a favorable image of the cooperative.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Current knowledge of Point of Sale and Point of Scale software.
  2. Current knowledge of Ag-trax software pertaining to agronomy billings.
  3. Knowledge of seed, chemicals, fertilizer products and store inventory.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The employee frequently is required to taste or smell. The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Appropriate personal protective equipment in restrictive areas.

  4. Perform Ag-trax accounting for assigned locations including invoicing work orders for custom applications and point of sale invoicing for wet fertilizer, dry fertilizer, and ammonia.
  5. Give out prices for agronomy applications to callers.
  6. Enter invoices, produce billings, set up new accounts, and perform account maintenance for agronomy transactions in an efficient and accurate manner.
  7. Monitor inventory of fertilizer, chemicals, and store items. Order inventory for all locations assigned. Monitor fuel inventory at card-trol locations and stations and order fuel as necessary. Maintain monthly fuel reconciliation.
  8. Produce daily and month end reports.
  9. Balance locations deposits and cash box daily.
  10. Wait on walk in customers promptly and courteously with a friendly smile and answer incoming calls in a professional and courteous tone. Thank all customers for their business.
  11. Work with your customers to resolve problems and report any unresolved issues to your manager.
  12. File grain settlement sheets.
  13. Actively work to increase personal knowledge and skills.
  14. Attend training sessions as directed by your manager.
  15. Complete special projects assigned by your manager.
WORKING CONDITIONS:

Job involves work inside a climate-controlled office atmosphere and outside in hot and cold weather.
