Job summary

Dignity Health Medical Foundation is seeking a Billing Rep II to support patients and providers by streamlining billing and insurance processes. You will review and process patient accounts, insurance claims, and payment postings to ensure accurate, timely billing and confidentiality.

The role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of medical billing and coding, and experience with healthcare insurance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Three (3) years experience working in healthcare Rev Cycle or a Professional Medical Office.
• Knowledge of physician billing regulations.
• Understanding of professional claims and billing procedures.
• Knowledge of Federal and State regulations applicable to Government and Insurance Collections.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of computers and MS Office with emphasis in Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review and process patient accounts, insurance claims, and payment postings.
• Ensure accurate and timely billing, follow up on denied claims, and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Read & interpret EOBs from various insurance carriers.
• Navigate Insurance payer websites and use medical records systems.
• Research and analyze accounts to determine appropriate action(s) to be taken.
• Proactively organize and manage caseload to ensure follow through on claims.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Billing Rep II, you will help our patients and providers streamline the billing and insurance process so they can focus on patient care and financial well-being. Every day you will review and process patient accounts, insurance claims, and payment postings. You will be expected to ensure accurate and timely billing, follow up on denied claims, and maintain patient confidentiality. To be successful in this role, you must have strong attention to detail, knowledge of medical billing and coding, and experience with healthcare insurance.

Demonstrate a solid understanding of your role as an Accounts Receivable Representative II including: Read & interpret invoice details, Patient registration in IDX, Rejection posting in IDX, Knowledge of medical records systems, Ability to navigate Insurance payer web sites, Read & interpret EOB's from various insurance carriers, FSC knowledge, Rules of FSC Flipping, Rules of Charge Corrections, Understanding of claim edits

Resolve claim edits

Ability to manage multiple expectations, tasks and deadlines effectively.

Timely review of electronic communication to stay informed of changes that affect your position.

Research and analyze account thoroughly to determine appropriate action(s) to be taken.

Proactively organize and manage case load to ensure follow through on claims that did not reach resolution at time of initial processing.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Diploma or GED
• Three (3) years experience working in healthcare Rev Cycle or a Professional Medical Office
• Knowledge of physician billing regulations
• Understanding of professional claims and billing procedures
• Knowledge of Federal and State regulations applicable to Government and Insurance Collections
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of computers and demonstrated proficiency in using e-mail systems, Internet and MS office software applications with emphasis in Word and Excel

Preferred

• Associates in Healthcare Administration or related field
• Five (5) years experience working in healthcare Rev Cycle or a Professional Medical Office
• One (1) year experience with IDX Practice management system and Cerner EHR
• Knowledge of Google Suite
