Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 5 years of medical billing and coding experience, including 1 year as a coding auditor.
• Active professional coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA and current during employment.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-CM, ICD-10, and HCPCS nomenclature.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform proactive compliance activities including audits, data monitoring, and education.
• Identify and address billing compliance risks prior to issues escalating.
• Collaborate with departments before new services or tools are implemented to assess risks.
• Maintain tracking tools such as risk registers and audit dashboards.
• Present findings clearly with strong oral and written communication.
• Work with providers, residents, coding staff, and leadership.
