Job summary

Air Methods is seeking a Billing and Collections Team Lead in the United States to oversee Billing and Collections Specialists, ensure processes are followed, and maintain HIPAA confidentiality. Pay starts at $21.54 hourly with a stated pay range of $40,625 to $58,925 per year.

Responsibilities include QA spot checks, staff training, communicating updates, reviewing aging reports, resolving payor issues, and assisting IT with system problems.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; 5–8 years related experience.
  • A.A./A.S. degree preferred; two-year college or technical school.
  • 1–2 years leadership/training experience preferred.
  • Billing and Collections experience required.
  • Knowledge of Government, Commercial, and Private payers preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical billing terminology required.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, collections, and reimbursement procedures required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee QA spot checks and provide feedback to staff.
  • Answer questions, provide support and direction to team members.
  • Relay updates and process changes to teammates and update procedures.
  • Review aging reports to identify unworked accounts and trends.
  • Assist staff with IT issues by submitting tickets to IT.
  • Provide training for new and existing teammates and cross-functional efforts.
  • Review staff productivity and manage workflow to complete assignments.
  • Complete assigned adjustments, reports and account assignments.
  • Review payor bulletins for changes impacting cash flow.
