Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a Billing Specialist to enter data electronically, process charges, payments, denials and adjustments. You will analyze and code procedures using ICD-9 and CPT, perform insurance/billing clerical duties, and verify patient account information.

You will follow up on balances due from insurers and patients and interact with physicians as needed. The role requires 1 year of healthcare billing experience and certification as a Medical Coder or equivalent; high school

Qualifications

• 1 year healthcare billing experience
• High school diploma or higher

Responsibilities

• Enter data electronically to process charges, payments, denials and adjustments

• Respond to billing inquiries and resolve problems
• Follow up on balances due from insurers and patients
• Interact with physicians on a professional level
• Work collection list and alert patients to status
• Maintain denial log and prepare data for reports
• Perform special projects as assigned

Perform insurance/ billing clerical duties, including review and verification of patient account information. Receive and answer billing related inquires and problems. Follow up on balances due from insurance companies and patients. Interact with physicians on a professional level. Work collection list, by calling patient and alerting them to status. Work bi-weekly denial log. Prepare data for daily, weekly, and monthly reports. Special projects as assigned.

Licenses and/or Certs: Certified Medical Coder or equivalent experience

Wage Range: $23.00/hr - 33.86/hr

Qualifications

Education: High School or better in Education.

Experience: 1 year: 1 year experience in healthcare billing or equivalent
