Job summary

Regal Boats is seeking a driven Manufacturing / BoM Engineer who thrives at the intersection of shop floor execution, engineering documentation, and system logic. You will own the accuracy, structure, and physical reality of our Bills of Materials (BoMs), routings, and assembly flow, working between design engineering, production floor operations, and our Epicor ERP system.

You will spend significant time on the shop floor auditing BOMs, reviewing router runs, and translating technical updates

Qualifications

• Experience with BoMs and MOM in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency with Epicor ERP (or similar).
• Ability to read and interpret technical prints, router runs, and PDFs.
• Strong Excel skills for cost analysis and spreadsheets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review BoMs, MOMs, and maintain BOMs in Epicor through ECN process.
• Ensure BOM accuracy and ERP reflects manufacturing floor reality.
• Audit on-floor BOMs, routings, shrinkage and router runs for accuracy.
• Collaborate with Production, Purchasing, Design Engineering, and Production Engineers to align BOM structure and components.
• Translate design updates into accurate Epicor structures and support cost/variance analysis.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

Regal Boats is seeking a driven Manufacturing / BoM Engineer who thrives at the intersection of shop floor execution, engineering documentation, and system logic. Unlike a traditional desk-bound analyst role, this position acts as a vital link between design engineering, production floor operations, and our Epicor ERP system. You will own the accuracy, structure, and physical reality of our Bills of Materials (BoMs), routings, and assembly flow. Spending significant time on the shop floor, you will review router runs, audit cut sheets/PDF prints, troubleshoot line bottlenecks, and ensure our digital Epicor models reflect actual boat-building practices.

• Responsible for reviewing Bills of Materials(BoM), Methods of Manufacturing (MOM), and maintaining existing Bills of Materials in our Epicor ERP system through the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process.
• Responsible for the accuracy of the Bills of Materials and ensuring the Epicor ERP system matches reality on the manufacturing floor.
• Conduct hands-on audits on the assembly floor to ensure Epicor Bills of Materials, part flow, shrinkage, and routings match physical boat construction and router output runs.
• Become fully competent in using the Bill of Materials maintenance, inquiry screens, Configurator options tables, and reports in the Epicor ERP system.
• Work with Production, Purchasing, Design Engineering, and Production Engineers to ensure that the BOM has the correct structure as well as the correct components, quantities, and routings in the ERP system.
• Audit Bill of Materials information for accuracy and completeness, specifically: BoM linkages, Routings, BoM types, shrinkage, and router runs.
• Manage Options tables for accurate option availability, and conditional rules within Epicor to support configurators and dealer ordering systems.
• Review PDF prints, router runs, and engineering revisions, translating technical design updates into accurate Epicor manufacturing structures.
• Assist Purchasing and Engineering as needed in building and/or troubleshooting BOM costs and variance issues.
• Support engineering BoM and prototype staff during the design and prototype phase of new product development, ensuring seamless handoffs from prototype stage to full production BoMs.
• Support accounting, purchasing, and manufacturing during inventories.
• Manage the ERP system for scheduling details as it relates to assemblies and part flow.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience with Bills of Materials and Methods of Manufacturing in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with Epicor ERP (or similar enterprise manufacturing software).
• Ability to read and interpret technical prints, router runs, and assembly PDFs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, specifically to develop spreadsheets and cost comparisons.
• Basic Knowledge of boats.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to learn and master complex software(s) in a short period of time.
• Data entry and strong attention to detail.
• Passion for being on the manufacturing floor to gather information and collaborate with line technicians.
• Conversational English.
• Ambitious in pursuits of accuracy and details.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or STEM-related field (or equivalent hands-on manufacturing engineering experience).
• Experience with the flow of manufacturing processes and assemblies, as well as scheduling.
• Experience in marine, automotive, heavy equipment, or complex multi-option manufacturing.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles, value-stream mapping, or line balancing.
• Team player.
• Driven to succeed.
