Job summary

Albertina Kerr in Oregon is seeking a Direct Support Professional to join a youth group home in Cornelius. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to support youth ages 10-17 with developmental and mental health needs, helping them build daily living skills and independence.

Daily tasks include morning routines, school prep, meals, and community activities, with emphasis on safety, trauma-informed care, and relationship-building.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• Bilingual Spanish/English; language assessment may be required.
• Strong social skills.
• Able to lift/push/pull 50 pounds.
• Basic cooking skills; willing to learn.
• Basic cleaning skills.
• Flexible and eager to learn.
• Weekend availability preferred.
• Able to pass background and driving checks.

Responsibilities

• Build safe, trusting relationships with youth.
• Support daily living needs, including personal care.
• Help youth develop skills for independence and adulthood.
• Follow behavior support plans and ensure safety.
• Collaborate with families, medical professionals, and team members.
• Monitor health and well-being.
• Support youth in the community and across program needs.
• Although assigned to a primary group home, support may be needed at other group homes.
• Other duties as assigned or needed.
