Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Bilingual Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor Intern for the Reading District Office in Reading, PA. You will guide applicants through the vocational rehabilitation process, gather information, coordinate evaluations, and help develop an individualized employment plan.

Upon completion of the internship and degree, interns may be promoted to a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor. The role may include partial telework and a 37.5-hour workweek.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in final year of master's degree in vocational rehabilitation counseling, rehabilitation education, or rehabilitation administration.
• Authorization by college to participate in Commonwealth's Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor Intern Program.
• Must read, write, and speak Spanish; may need a proficiency evaluation.
• PA residency requirement is waived for this title.

Responsibilities

• Develop referral sources by building relationships in your territory.
• Gather applicant information through interviews on disabilities, work history, education, and related factors.
• Coordinate evaluations by arranging and authorizing assessments.
• Support vocational planning by helping set goals and develop an individualized plan for employment.
• Track progress by monitoring case advancement and documenting updates.
• Promote job placement by encouraging employment readiness and connecting customers with opportunities.
