A non-profit organization in the Dunmore area is seeking a Bilingual Staff Attorney to represent survivors of domestic and sexual violence. The role involves civil representation and advocacy in family law cases. The ideal candidate will have a JD, an active PA law license, and be bilingual in Spanish and English. A full-time opening has come available for a Bilingual Staff Attorney to represent survivors of domestic and sexual violence to join an extremely honorable non-profit organization. This position would earn a competitive base salary and a great benefits package including insurance plans, health plan, vacation, pension, and other outstanding perks. The positions are located in the beautiful Dunmore area.

Responsibilities

• Provide civil representation to program participants: including but not limited to interviews, filings, court appearances, and trials.
• Represent and advocate for petitioners in both civil and criminal contempt cases.
• Provide support and training to law students.
• Participate in local, state, and national activities specifically committees/networks sponsored by Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
• Litigate in precedent-setting cases at trial level and on appeal.

Requirements

• Please DO NOT APPLY unless you have an active license to Practice Law in PA and a JD from an accredited Law School.
• 1+ year in FAMILY LAW experience.
• MUST be Bi-lingual (Spanish/English).
• Local travel to Lackawanna and Susquehanna Counties.
