Dragonfly Cares is seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) credentialed Special Education Teacher to provide individualized in-home instruction to children with autism and developmental disabilities in New York. This part-time role offers flexible scheduling and immediate start.

The role requires NYS SWD certification, a Master’s in special ed, 1–2 years experience, and strong data collection and family‑centered communication.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field.
• Valid New York State certification as Special Education Teacher (SWD).
• Bilingual English/Spanish required; additional languages welcome.
• Minimum 1–2 years experience with autism/developmental disabilities.
• Proficiency in data collection, progress monitoring, and IEP goal implementation.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized academic and behavioral instruction in clients' homes.
• Provide services in English and Spanish, communicating with bilingual families.
• Design and implement personalized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
• Conduct Parent Counseling and Training sessions in English and/or Spanish.
• Collect and analyze client progress data; adjust interventions as needed.
• Collaborate with clinical directors, parents, caregivers, and school teams.
• Maintain detailed session notes, progress reports, and logs.
• Stay current with advances in special education and ABA practices.

Position Overview

Dragonfly Cares is seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish), credentialed Special Education Teacher to provide individualized in‑home instruction to children with autism and developmental disabilities. This role is ideal for a dedicated educator who is passionate about reaching diverse families and bridging language barriers to deliver exceptional care in the home and community. The hourly rate range for this role would be $55‑65 per hour based on experience in the field.

What You'll Do

• Deliver individualized academic and behavioral instruction in clients' homes using evidence‑based, culturally responsive practices
• Provide services in both English and Spanish, ensuring effective communication with bilingual and Spanish‑speaking families
• Design and implement personalized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) tailored to each child's goals
• Conduct Parent Counseling and Training (PCT) sessions in English and/or Spanish to empower caregivers
• Collect, monitor, and analyze client progress data; adjust interventions to maximize outcomes
• Collaborate with clinical directors, parents, caregivers, and school teams for coordinated, culturally sensitive care
• Maintain accurate, detailed records including session notes, progress reports, and intervention logs
• Stay current with advancements in special education, ABA research, and evidence‑based practices

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field
• Valid New York State Certified Special Education Teacher certification (SWD)
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish – required; additional languages welcomed
• Minimum 1‑2 years of experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities
• Proficiency in data collection, progress monitoring, and IEP goal implementation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish
• Ability to work independently in home‑based settings and as part of a collaborative team
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required

Preferred

• Experience delivering Parent Counseling and Training (PCT) sessions, particularly with bilingual families
• Experience implementing in‑home Behavior Intervention Services (BIS)
• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or BCBA coursework
• Familiarity with ABA‑based therapy platforms and electronic data collection tools
• Experience with IEP development and CPSE/CSE processes in New York State
• Fluency in additional languages beyond English and Spanish
