Dragonfly Cares is seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) credentialed Special Education Teacher to provide in-home instruction to children with autism and developmental disabilities in New York. The role emphasizes culturally responsive teaching, collaboration with families, and data-driven progress monitoring.

You will deliver individualized academic and behavioral instruction, design BIPs, and conduct Parent Counseling and Training, with flexible scheduling and an immediate start date.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
• NY State Certified Special Education Teacher (SWD).
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required; additional languages welcomed.
• 1-2 years' experience with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities.
• Proficiency in data collection, progress monitoring, and IEP goal implementation.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English and Spanish.
• Ability to work independently in home-based settings and as part of a collaborative team.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized academic and behavioral instruction in clients' homes using evidence-based, culturally responsive practices.
• Provide services in English and Spanish, ensuring effective communication with bilingual and Spanish-speaking families.
• Design and implement personalized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) tailored to each child's goals.
• Conduct Parent Counseling and Training sessions in English and/or Spanish to empower caregivers.
• Collect, monitor, and analyze client progress data; adjust interventions to maximize outcomes.
• Collaborate with clinical directors, parents, caregivers, and school teams for coordinated, culturally sensitive care.
• Maintain accurate, detailed records including session notes, progress reports, and intervention logs.
• Stay current with advancements in special education, ABA research, and evidence-based practices.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Dragonfly Cares is seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish), credentialed Special Education Teacher to provide individualized in-home instruction to children with autism and developmental disabilities. This role is ideal for a dedicated educator who is passionate about reaching diverse families and bridging language barriers to deliver exceptional care in the home and community. The hourly rate range for this role would be $55-65/hr based off experience in the field.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Deliver individualized academic and behavioral instruction in clients' homes using evidence-based, culturally responsive practices
• Provide services in both English and Spanish, ensuring effective communication with bilingual and Spanish-speaking families
• Design and implement personalized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) tailored to each child's goals
• Conduct Parent Counseling and Training (PCT) sessions in English and/or Spanish to empower caregivers
• Collect, monitor, and analyze client progress data; adjust interventions to maximize outcomes
• Collaborate with clinical directors, parents, caregivers, and school teams for coordinated, culturally sensitive care
• Maintain accurate, detailed records including session notes, progress reports, and intervention logs
• Stay current with advancements in special education, ABA research, and evidence-based practices

• Master's Degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field
• Valid New York State Certified Special Education Teacher certification(SWD)
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish - required; additional languages welcomed
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities
• Proficiency in data collection, progress monitoring, and IEP goal implementation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish
• Ability to work independently in home-based settings and as part of a collaborative team
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required

PREFERRED:(BONUS POINTS)

• Experience delivering Parent Counseling and Training (PCT) sessions, particularly with bilingual families
• Experience implementing in-home Behavior Intervention Services (BIS)
• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or BCBA coursework
• Familiarity with ABA‑based therapy platforms and electronic data collection tools
• Experience with IEP development and CPSE/CSE processes in New York State
• Fluency in additional languages beyond English and Spanish
