Job summary

Harrisonburg City Public Schools seeks an Interpreter – Special Education to provide consecutive and simultaneous interpretation for IEP and related meetings on an as-needed basis.

The role reports to the Director of Equity and Community Engagement; it is a temporary services agreement with a $35 per hour rate. Availability and timely communication are essential; eligibility requires a high school diploma and fluency in English and a target language.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and a target language.
• Proficiency in public speaking and written communication.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Provide consecutive/simultaneous interpretation and limited translation for Special Education meetings.
• Ensure availability by responding to calls, texts, and emails in a timely manner.
• Confirm assignments and submit time sheets.
• Attend interpreter trainings as required.
