Tutor Me Education LLC in Los Angeles is seeking tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring for students in Los Angeles, CA. You will work in students' homes and tailor instruction based on each IEP.

Ideal candidates will have an active teaching credential, be fluent in English and Spanish, and be patient, organized, and able to break down tasks with visual schedules and routines.

Responsabilidades

• Provide individualized academic support in Business English.
• Break down assignments into manageable steps and provide guided practice.
• Assist with homework, assignment completion, and prioritization of coursework.
• Help develop organizational and time-management skills through planners, checklists, visual schedules, and structured routines.
• Conduct frequent check-ins to monitor understanding, progress, and assignment completion.
• Reinforce self-advocacy skills, including asking for clarification and communicating academic needs.
• Teach practical coping strategies to manage stress and build confidence.
• Encourage independence by reinforcing routines and less supervision over tasks.
• Incorporate real-life examples and the student's interests to make learning engaging.
• Communicate progress and updates to the family or support team as appropriate.

About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Los Angeles, CA

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in Los Angeles, CA
• Schedule: 25 hours a month, 2 sessions a week for 1 hour
• Pay range is between $25 and $35

Ideal Candidate:

• An active teaching credential is preferred.
• Fluent in both English and Spanish is required, as the student is not fluent in English.
• Experience supporting college students or young adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities is strongly preferred.
• Patient, organized, and encouraging, with the ability to explain concepts clearly and provide step-by-step instruction.
• Skilled in breaking down assignments into manageable tasks and using visual schedules, planners, checklists, and structured routines.
• Able to support the development of self-advocacy, time management, organization, coping strategies, and independent learning skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized academic support in Business English, including understanding course materials, following instructions, completing assignments, and improving written and verbal communication skills.
• Break down complex assignments into smaller, manageable steps and provide repeated explanations and guided practice as needed.
• Assist with homework, assignment completion, and prioritization of coursework.
• Help the student develop organizational and time-management skills through planners, checklists, visual schedules, and structured routines.
• Conduct frequent check-ins to monitor understanding, progress, and assignment completion.
• Reinforce self-advocacy skills, including asking for clarification, requesting assistance, and communicating academic needs.
• Teach practical coping strategies to manage stress, maintain focus, and build confidence in academic settings.
• Encourage independence by gradually reinforcing positive routines and allowing opportunities for the student to complete tasks with less assistance.
• Incorporate real-life examples and the student's interests to make learning more engaging and meaningful.
• Communicate progress and relevant updates to the family or designated support team as appropriate.
