Job summary

South Texas College seeks a Continuing Education- Spanish CPR Trainer to teach American Heart Association CPR courses in Spanish, including BLS and First Aid. The instructor will provide classroom and hands-on training, assess competency, and maintain certification records in compliance with AHA guidelines.

The role requires bilingual abilities, a current AHA Instructor Certification, and the ability to travel across the college district. Evening/ weekend availability may be needed.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED is required.
• Current American Heart Association Instructor Certification required.
• Minimum of 1 year of CPR instructional experience.

Responsibilities

• Instructs students in Spanish CPR courses including: BLS, Heart saver, and First Aid.
• Implements educational curriculum to ensure student success.
• Evaluates and optimizes educational curriculum.
• Motivates students to attend class and succeed.
• Creates individual educational plans to support timely coursework completion.
• Maintains student and class records; tracks attendance.
• Assesses students’ academic performance.
• Issues CPR certification cards after each course.
• Travels throughout the College district, as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
