Job Overview

At this healthcare facility, the Shuttle Driver is responsible for providing safe, efficient, and empathetic service to all passengers -- greeting with a warm welcome, driving them to their destination safely and sending them on their way with a fond farewell.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operates a passenger van safely and efficiently.
  • Follows specific regularly scheduled routes, charter routes or responds to requests from management for unscheduled pickups or dropoffs.
  • Assists passengers in boarding and exiting vehicle.
  • Reliably transmits and receives communications over a two-way radio system.
  • Monitors traffic and weather conditions and notifies dispatch of potential problems.
  • Reports accidents or other safety situations to the Account Manager.
  • Inspects exterior and interior of vehicle at beginning of each shift for properly operating headlights, turn signals, brake lights, interior courtesy lamps, air conditioning or heating, warning lamps, mirror adjustment, properly inflated tires, windshield wipers, vehicle damage, etc. prior to moving vehicle.
  • Responsible for ensuring the inside and outside of the vehicle are properly cleaned and fueled at all times.
  • Keeps the interior of the vehicle neat and orderly.
  • Monitors vehicle condition and records malfunctioning items or damage to the Account Manager.
  • Accurately completes driver trip sheet for each shift with information including driver number, vehicle number, number of passengers, pickup and drop off times, mileages, destinations, etc.
  • Treats all passengers, customers, and other persons in a courteous, friendly and professional manner.
  • Also may be required to perform other related duties as requested.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Proficiency with Spanish and English required
  • Previous experience with shuttle maintenance is strongly recommended.
  • Problem solving skills and decision-making ability, but knows when to ask for input and help
  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate effectively both verbally and on paper
  • Exceptional customer service skills – maintains a warm, friendly and professional demeanor when working with other employees, patients and visitors.
  • Must be at least 20 years old for insurance purposes.
  • Must have and maintain a valid drivers license and clean driving record
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to safely and efficiently operate a passenger van.
  • Must be able to sit for up to eight (8) hours per shift.
  • Ability to complete log sheets and trip sheets.
Physical Demands
  • Employees are regularly required to run, stand, walk and sit for long periods of time
  • Must be able to wear PPE (personal protective equipment) for the duration of their shift
  • Must be able to push patients in wheelchairs (100 – 350 pounds)
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 5 pounds frequently and up to 10 pounds occasionally
Physical Demands and Safety Requirements
  • Essential Vehicle Operation — Ability to safely operate a 14‑passenger shuttle van, which typically weighs approximately 9,000–10,000 lbs when fully loaded, including performing defensive driving maneuvers and responding appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Work Environment & Conditions — Ability to sit for extended periods, enter and exit the vehicle repeatedly, and operate the vehicle in varying weather, traffic, and lighting conditions.
  • Physical Demands — Ability to bend, reach, and lift up to 50lb to assist with equipment, safety gear, or passenger needs.
  • Vision Requirements — Must maintain vision that meets state driving standards, with or without corrective lenses. Drivers who require prescription glasses or contact lenses to meet these standards are required to wear them at all times while operating company vehicles.
  • Age‑Related Medical Clearance — Due to the safety-sensitive nature of this position, drivers aged 70 and older may be asked to provide medical clearance from a licensed medical provider confirming their continued ability to safely perform all essential driving functions.
Work Environment

As it is an outdoor role, the employee may be subjected to the weather conditions of the time.

Hiring FT and PT roles. Shifts available Monday to Friday. We operate from 5 AM to 10 PM
