The Role

The Nudj Nutrition Specialist is a key member of the Nudj lifestyle management team. Under the supervision of the Chief Clinical Officer, the Nutrition Specialist provides nutrition counseling and health education to patients to promote behavioral change and improve the mental and physical health care of patients.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Evaluate the health of a patient through comprehensive assessments and follow-ups in accordance with current standards of practice.
  2. Prescribe behavior modifications and create intervention plans that are patient-centered and outcome-oriented to promote overall health and disease control, prevention, and reversal. Patients will be followed virtually.
  3. Analyze basic laboratory results and effectively discuss results with patients, using advanced clinical knowledge and expertise.
  4. Document and track patient progress, treatment recommendations, and clinical outcomes in EHR and other required systems. Communicate resulting treatment recommendations to the clinical care team.
  5. Create content and develop educational material for classes and handouts for patients and staff to develop nutrition skills, understanding of evidence-based interventions and diets, and to deliver valuable nutrition services.
  6. Provide brief behavioral interventions using evidence-based techniques such as behavioral activation, motivational interviewing, or other treatments as appropriate.
  7. Participate in regularly scheduled team meetings and caseload reviews with psychiatric consultant and clinical care team.
Qualifications
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (preferably with a master's degree), with at least 2 years of clinical experience.
  • Registered by the Commission of Dietetic Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Bilingual Spanish.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively in a team setting, yet also able to work independently.
  • Innate ability to provide compassionate support and empathy to each patient and bring forth concerns without judgement or gossip.
  • Excited to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong team-centric focus.
  • Computer savvy - Experience with EMR or EHR systems and not afraid of new technologies.
