Paleovalley and Wild Pastures in Mesa, AZ seeks a Production Supervisor for the 3rd shift (9:00 PM - 5:30 AM) to lead daily manufacturing operations and develop frontline leaders. • High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of experience in food, beverage, dietary supplement, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
• Minimum 2 years of experience leading or supervising production teams.
• Working knowledge of GMPs, food safety practices, sanitation programs, and applicable FDA and/or USDA regulations.
• Experience managing production schedules, staffing, workflow, and daily manufacturing operations.
• Ability to interpret production metrics and use data to improve operational performance.
• Strong leadership, coaching, communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office and manufacturing or ERP systems.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends or alternate shifts, when business needs require.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements outlined below.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop Production Leads and Production Associates with clear direction and feedback.
• Oversee daily production operations to meet schedules, quality standards, safety expectations, and productivity goals.
• Coordinate staffing, labor allocation, and production priorities across each shift.
• Monitor throughput, downtime, labor efficiency, waste, yield, and OEE; take corrective action as needed.
• Foster a culture of safety, GMPs, sanitation, PPE compliance and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to maintain FDA, USDA, GMP, HACCP, sanitation, and food safety standards.
• Work with Maintenance to prioritize repairs, preventive maintenance, and issue resolution.
• Review production documentation, batch records, downtime reports, inventory usage, and data for accuracy and compliance.
• Identify inefficiencies and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve productivity.
• Investigate issues using root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Support employee engagement and reinforce company culture and values.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve production goals while maintaining customer service and product quality.

About the Opportunity

As a Production Supervisor, you'll lead the day-to-day operations of one or more production areas, ensuring our teams safely manufacture high-quality products while meeting production goals and living our company values. You'll serve as the bridge between strategy and execution—developing frontline leaders, driving operational excellence, and creating an environment where people can do their best work every day.

Success in this role means balancing people leadership, operational execution, food safety, and continuous improvement to help deliver nutrient-dense products our customers trust.

What You’ll Do

• Lead, coach, and develop Production Leads and Production Associates by providing clear direction, regular feedback, coaching, and performance management that supports employee growth and accountability.
• Oversee daily production operations to ensure production schedules, quality standards, safety expectations, and productivity goals are consistently achieved.
• Coordinate staffing, labor allocation, and production priorities throughout each shift to maximize efficiency while adapting to changing production needs.
• Monitor production performance using key operational metrics such as throughput, downtime, labor efficiency, waste, yield, schedule attainment, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), taking corrective action when needed.
• Foster a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with all company safety policies, GMPs, sanitation procedures, PPE requirements, and regulatory standards while proactively addressing safety concerns.
• Partner closely with Quality Assurance to maintain compliance with FDA, USDA, GMP, HACCP, sanitation, and food safety requirements while supporting internal and external audits.
• Work collaboratively with Maintenance to prioritize equipment repairs, preventive maintenance activities, and rapid resolution of equipment issues that impact production.
• Review production documentation, batch records, downtime reports, inventory usage, and production data for completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
• Identify operational inefficiencies and lead continuous improvement initiatives that reduce waste, improve productivity, strengthen quality, and support long-term operational excellence.
• Investigate production, quality, safety, and operational issues using root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
• Support employee engagement by recognizing strong performance, promoting teamwork, resolving workplace concerns professionally, and reinforcing Paleovalley and Wild Pastures' culture and values.
• Collaborate with Production Management, Warehouse, Planning, Procurement, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to ensure production goals are achieved while maintaining exceptional customer service and product quality.

• Experience in dietary supplements, natural foods, nutritional products, or consumer packaged goods (CPG).

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This role takes place in a manufacturing/warehouse environment and may involve exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and airborne particles. Employees must follow all safety guidelines and use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

The position requires regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, and the ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds. Work may involve operating or working near machinery and other equipment.
