Job summary
El Rio Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support dispensing and pharmacy operations at a Tucson clinic. The technician will prepare medications under the pharmacist’s supervision and provide administrative support in the Pharmacy Department.
Requirements include AZ Pharmacy Technician license, BLS, Level I fingerprint clearance, and reliable transportation. Preferred bilingual English/Spanish. Must comply with 340B and Medicaid/insurance processes.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Active Pharmacy Technician license per Arizona Board requirements.
- BLS certification for healthcare providers.
- Level I fingerprint clearance card: valid and in good standing.
- Reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and AZ insurance compliance.
Responsibilities
- Performs pharmaceutical and clerical duties supporting pharmacy operations within established timelines.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and HIPAA/compliance standards.
- Receives prescriptions, counts/pours/weighs/mixes medications for pharmacist review.
- Enters patient and prescription data into the pharmacy system; verifies eligibility; records disbursements.
- Assists with insurance billing issues and checkout processing.
- Maintains pharmacy equipment and a clean, compliant work area.
