Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join the inpatient Gastroenterology service. The NP will evaluate and treat pediatric GI patients, educate families, and coordinate complex care with a multidisciplinary team in a hospital setting.

Preferred candidates include Spanish proficiency and a strong interest in chronic GI disorders. This is an on-site role based in San Francisco, CA with collaboration across nursing, social work, pharmacy, and nutrition teams.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a California Board of Registered Nursing approved or verified school of nursing with a master's degree in nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
• Demonstrated clinical competence and in-depth knowledge of pediatric gastroenterology patients.
• At least 2 years of recent NP experience working with pediatric gastroenterology patients.
• Preferred: Proficient in Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of inpatient pediatric gastroenterology patients.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, evaluation, treatment, and ongoing management during hospitalization and at discharge.
• Coordinate complex care including ordering medications, diagnostic studies, procedures, consultations, and nutrition support; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare providers about treatment plans, procedures, test results, and discharge planning.
