Job summary

Community Health Center of Clinton is seeking a Patient Service Associate to greet and schedule patients, manage a busy phone system, and promote service excellence across diverse populations in Clinton, CT. You will handle data entry, maintain confidentiality, and support front-desk operations with a focus on patient experience.

The role requires an associates or medical office credential and Spanish bilingual skills, with a strong emphasis on customer service, communication, and multi-tasking.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree, medical office or medical assistant degree required.
  • Bilingual skills, Spanish speaking, Required
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Excellent Verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to multi task
  • Problem Solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Healthcare experience in Medical, Dental, or Behavioral Health preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Point, Excel, Word, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors and callers
  • Oversee the safe, efficient, and comfortable atmosphere of the reception area
  • Greet patients and other visitors to the agency and assist them as appropriate
  • Review schedules daily to ensure accuracy and fill appointment opportunities
  • Schedule and reschedule appointments in accordance with CHC scheduling guidelines
  • Collect, verify, update and document patient demographics, insurance information and forms
  • Reconcile patient visits daily
  • Answer, screen, and direct incoming telephone calls and document as needed in electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Ensure forms are completed and accurate, including assisting patients in completing forms, and scan into EHR per CHC Indexing protocols
  • Consistently ensure and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Escalate concerns to site leads/Operations Manager and offer suggestions for improvement
  • Supports manager in monitoring inventory of supplies for the office
  • Meet and exceed assigned individual and departmental goals
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
