Job summary

Community Health Center of Meriden is seeking a Patient Service Associate to be the friendly first point of contact for patients and providers. You will greet and schedule patients, answer a busy phone system, verify demographics and insurance, collect payments, and maintain confidentiality in all interactions.

Ideal candidates have an Associate degree in a medical office or medical assisting, bilingual Spanish skills, and strong customer service, communication, and organizational abilities.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in medical office or medical assistant field.
  • Bilingual Spanish speaking is required.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to multitask.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Healthcare experience preferred (medical, dental, or behavioral health).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and callers.
  • Oversee the reception area for safety, efficiency, and comfort.
  • Greet patients and assist them as needed.
  • Review schedules daily for accuracy and fill appointment opportunities.
  • Schedule and reschedule appointments per CHC guidelines.
  • Collect and verify patient demographics and insurance information.
  • Reconcile patient visits daily.
